GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN – March 16, 2015 – Jazz in the Park presented by the West Michigan Jazz Society debuts this summer at a new location, Ah-Nab-Awen Park in downtown Grand Rapids.
For 14 years, The West Michigan Jazz Society (WMJS) has been producing free jazz concerts at John Ball Zoo that have become a tradition on the summer event calendar and one of the most popular events in the city.
WMJS is honored to bring this 15th year of concerts to downtown Grand Rapids in Ah-Nab-Awen Park. WMJS has secured a total of ten event dates where the community and visitors alike, can come together and listen to the classic sounds of America’s original genre of music….Jazz!
The 2015 Jazz in the Park Concert Series will run from June 8th through August 10th.

The Monday evening concert series will again be free thanks to support from the City of Grand Rapids and other sponsoring individuals. “Grand Rapids has a great tradition of supporting Jazz,” WMJS Board President Pete Proli said. “The community has been very supportive of the concert series at the zoo and we are excited to be producing our 15th concert series downtown in a scenic location on the Grand River.”
Grand Rapids city commissioners approved Jazz in the Park as one of several events that it will co-sponsor in 2015, a distinction only given to events that have proven to be successful and adds to the quality of life in the community.
